The use principle of flash  sterilization is that it can't be used on the instrument which may penetrate into the human body in order to avoid infection.

Low-Temperature Sterilization is a new technologies that mixing two kinds of gas

Hydrogen Peroxide Gas Plasma is a another new technologies that use the gas plasma

 All the dental instrument when finished cleaning process should put in the specific container to package.And take a circulation of loading and storing.It is important to monitor the sterilization process routinely through a variety ways.

sterilization means that destroy all the life forms including the fungi,bacteria,viruses, endospores.There are several ways to do this process

the basic principle of the steam sterilization is that we should consider pressure time and temperature.The steam sterilization have its specific pressure,time and temperature that can reach the purpose.

there are two major type of the autoclave:
first is pull off all the air by vacuum pump
second is also pull off the air by gravity

What the action of the steam sterilization on the microbes????The moist can destroy its protein or enzyme

The critical and semicrical item with moist and heat resistant can be used

In the morning for our seminar class,my classmates and I do the cleaning work.we cleaning the item including the dental chair and some of the dental instrument.

 Factors Affecting the Efficacy of Disinfection and Sterilization

1.we need the more time or higher level germicide if the number of microbes is higher

2.the level of germicide will affect the time or efficacy.High level germicide can destroy the microbes more effective

3.some microbes have resistance to the germicide,maybe innate or acqired

4.some environment factor can affect the efficacy such as PH,temperature .......and so on

5.depend on how long does the mircobes exposure in the germicides

 Chemical disinfectants

1.household bleach

mode of action:decrease DNA and protein synthesis and decreased uptake of nutrition

uses:to clean the item in the house

2.Glutaraldehyde

 mode of action:change and affect the protein,DNA and RNA synthesis of the microbes


uses:as a high level disinfectant on the instrument.

Approach to Disinfection and Sterilization.

In the clinic, we always have to do the disinfection and sterilization after or before we use the item because these process can help us to destroy the microbes and prevent transmit of the pathogens from instrument.

Cleaning means that only clean the visible spot with the water or detergent.Disinfection means that destroy most of the microbes but not including the bacterial spores.However,sterilization means that destroy all of the microbes including the bacterial spores.

Germicide is example of the agent which can destroy the microbes and divided into two parts:antiseptics and disinfectants.

Antiseptics use on the skin but disinfectant only use on the lifeless item.

We use the Spaulding classification to make the reasonable approach to disinfect or sterilize the clinic item.we can divided three parts:critical item which means that have high risk to infect,semicritical item which means that contact the mucous membrane or non-intact tissue,noncritical item means that contact the intact tissue

Also,disinfection and sterilization of the dental instrucment can follow Spaulding classification.

However, we don't have enough information to prove that  antibiotic-resistant bacteria have a little sensitivity to the disinfectant.

How about the surface disinfection??????surface infection refer to the noncritical item,so we also need to disinfect it but we don't have to use the high level disinfectant
